Deakin University is an Australian public university with over 43,000 higher education students in 2012. Estabelecido em 1974, the University was named after the leader of the Australian federation movement and the nation’s second Prime Minister, Alfred Deakin. It has campuses in Geelong, Warrnambool and Burwood, Melbourne in the state of Victoria.

It has won the prestigious Australian University of the Year award twice and it is one of Australia’s fastest growing research universities.

La Trobe University is a multi-campus university in Victoria, Austrália. It was established in 1964 by an Act of Parliament to become the third university in the state of Victoria. The main campus of La Trobe is located in the Melbourne suburb of Bundoora; two other major campuses are located in the Victorian city of Bendigo and the NSW-Victorian border centre of Albury-Wodonga. The university has a number of smaller campuses at Mildura, Shepparton, and Beechworth as well as a campus in Melbourne’s CBD.

La Trobe offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses across five major faculties, covering all the main learning areas: Educação; Health Sciences; Ciências humanas e sociais; Negócios, Economics and Law; and Science, Technology and Engineering. La Trobe is considered to be particularly strong in the area of arts and humanities; this was reflected in the 2005 Times Higher Education Supplement, where it was ranked amongst the top 25 institutions in the world in this category and third best in Australia. It also has a strong international reputation in biomedicine, as demonstrated when the Times ranked it in the top 100 biomedicine universities in the world in this same year (13th in Australia).

MCD University of Divinity is an ecumenical university comprising ten theological colleges from eight denominations. The office of the vice-chancellor is located in Kew, a suburb of Melbourne in the state of Victoria.

Monash University (also known simply as Monash) is a public university based in Melbourne, Austrália. It was founded in 1958 and is the second oldest university in the State of Victoria. Monash is a member of Australia’s Group of Eight and the ASAIHL, and is the only Australian member of the influential M8 Alliance of Academic Health Centers, Universities and National Academies.

RMIT University (officially the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, and simply referred to as RMIT) is an Australian university of technology and design based in Melbourne, Victoria. It is the third oldest tertiary education provider in Victoria, and is the eighth oldest provider of tertiary education in Australia. Its foundation campus is located in Melbourne City, and is a contiguous part of the northern area of the city centre.

RMIT is the largest tertiary education provider in Australia. A partir de 2012, it has an enrolment of around 82,000 students across vocational, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Swinburne University of Technology (often simply referred to as Swinburne) is an Australian public university of technology based inMelbourne, Victoria. Swinburne was founded in 1908 by the Honourable George Swinburne as the Eastern Suburbs Technical College. Its foundation campus is located in Hawthorn, a suburb of Melbourne which is located 7.5 km from the Melbourne CBD.

Swinburne operates five campuses in two countries and has an enrolment of 60,000 students across vocational, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

In addition to its main Hawthorn campus, Swinburne has campuses in the Melbourne metropolitan area at Prahran, Wantirna and Croydon. Swinburne also has a branch campus in Sarawak, Malaysia which it has operated in partnership with the Sarawak State Government since 2000.

Internationally, Swinburne is ranked among the top 400 universities in the world by the Academic Ranking of World Universities and theTimes Higher Education World University Rankings and in the top 500 universities in the world by the 2013 QS World University Rankings.

Federation University is a dual-sector university with multiple campuses in Victoria, Austrália. The university is centred in Ballarat, but there are also campuses in Ararat, Horsham, Stawell, Churchill and online offering technical and further education (TAFE) and Horsham’s Higher Education Nursing program. The Ballarat and Mount Helen campuses offer traditional university programmes, a few of which are Business, Engenharia, Educação, Nursing, and Art.

Melbourne comprises 11 separate academic units and is associated with numerous institutes and research centres, including the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research and the Grattan Institute. Victoria University is a multi-sector tertiary institution (higher education and TAFE) based in Melbourne, Austrália. VU has various colleges; for example: Arts, Negócios, Educação, Engineering and Science, Health and Biomedicine, Law and Justice, and Sport and Exercise Science. VU operates out of nine campuses in the Melbourne CBD and western regions. VU caters to more than 51,000 students in its campuses worldwide.

Victoria has a mild, temperate climate with warm to hot summers, moderate autumns, cool to cold winters and sunny springs.

The economy of Victoria is highly diversified: service sectors including financial and property services, health, educação, wholesale, retail, hospitality and manufacturing constitute the majority of employment.
